#CAT QUEST II SPEEDRUN HOW TO#
If you just can't get it done, check out some videos or learn how to skip through walls. This might need a few tries but you can do it - you only need one barrel. Use Haste, open the door and run in to pick the two rightmost death fog barrels before they are destroyed.

Your goal is to speedrun the Ship part and save your game before the Skull Marked door. Otherwise go and create a new character with these specifications: Undead race (any), Knight preset, talent Lone Wolf, Telekinesis 1, Pyrokinetic 1, Polymorph 1, STR 18, skills Haste & Chameleon Cloak. If you decided to ignore the Hammered achievement for now ignore this paragraph.

It takes less than 10 minutes to speedrun the game to this point so you can very easily skip the Hammered for now, just saying. If you want to keep the plot going on ignore the Hammered achievement now and come back later. Do you want to spoil yourself on a plot event or be happily ignorant about it until later? If you don't mind some spoilers read the below paragraph and the description for Hammered achievement. Just resist the temptation to open the locked door while you're under there and the cat will be all right while you explore.Įnough of the cat. This turns out to be the best way to keep the cat safe - trap him in Fort Joy Dungeons via the hidden hatch near the big statue - you need some wits to notice the hidden button. Notably the cat cannot climb ladders so if you go somewhere underground via a ladder the cat will follow you there but cannot get back up the same way. So keep a close eye on him as he can get killed by guards or disappear randomly. Your ultimate goal is to get the next area and bring the cat with you. While you're exploring this next area you will eventually notice a black cat who will start to follow you. So if you created a character already just save and create a new one with WITS +3 and Persuasion 1 (nothing else matters). You can get these achievements during the first minute of actual game play. Good thing they are so damn well written that talking with them is a pleasure.īefore starting the real run we will start off by getting two easy achievements out of the way with a custom made character. Remember that you have to keep interacting with your companions - talk with them, respond to their comments and such for you to be able to do their companion achievements much much later in the game. You need a scholar or you will miss an achievement tens ans tens of hours later. Do note that one of your characters needs to have a scholar tag whether it is your main character or a companion (Sebille, Fane and Red Prince have it). As we cannot get all companion achievements in one run refer to the companion selection part earlier. You can create your character however you please or pick one of the origin characters. If you are not a completionist and are fine leaving some character achievements or difficulty achievements away be my guest and pick an easier difficulty and your favorite companions - you're playing the game for fun you know :)Ĭharacter creation. The suggestion is pretty much the 'optimal' playthrough amount to get 100% achievements in this game. Mine is Ifan/The Red Prince and I haven't beaten the Honour mode yet. Pick your main as the other character you didn't choose earlier from Lohse or Ifan and pick anyone else if you feel like it.
#CAT QUEST II SPEEDRUN FULL#
Mine was Fane & Beast and it took me 5 hours to beat the full game. 2nd playthrough doing a lone wolf solo/duo using the speedrun community tactics with Fane as a main and anyone else if you feel like it on the easiest difficulty. It took me 240 hours or 150 hours if reloads, writing this guide, alt tabbing and reading forums/wiki and trying out stuff is removed from the total.

Mine was Lohse, Ifan, Sebille & The Red Prince. You will really learn the game and its mechanics during this run.

The Red Prince (2 achievements, doable main/side) Ifan ben-Mezd (2 achievements, one doable main and one as a side) So there are six Origin characters to choose from:
